The Lions Club of Maldon
and the Rotary Club of Maldon have now been running this traditional event‚ in conjunction
with Maldon District Council - Leisure Services Department for 7 years. The popularity of the Maldon Mud Race continues
to grow‚ as a result this year we are nominating 4 charities to receive a share of the total funds raised.
We are very pleased to announce that WILKIN & SONS LTD
– HOME OF THE FAMOUS TIPTREE PRESERVES, have agreed for a second year to sponsor the Mad Maldon Mud Race.
In addition we welcome the support of REDROW HOMES
– BUILDERS OF FINE QUALITY HOMES, enabling us to make this years event the biggest ever.
The 2008 Mad Maldon Mud Race, will be held on the 4th January 2009‚
Promenade Park‚ Maldon at 11:30. Entry to the Event will be £1.00 (Children under 11 are free) with all the
proceeds‚ including a share of the sponsorship‚ from the event going to the organisers nominated charities.
The race is a sponsored event organised by the Lions and Rotary Clubs of Maldon.
Competitors can chose their own charity for half the money they raise‚ the other half
goes to the local community charities picked by Maldon Lions and Rotary clubs. Competitors
from all over the world are welcomed‚ in the past we have had competitors from Finland‚
Germany‚ USA‚ and New Zealand.

The 2008 winner was Stuart Putt from Boreham who completed the course in 3mins 49 seconds. The winner of the ladies trophey was Vicki Sharman from West Hanningfield. A full list of results is now available under the Previous Events page.
